Autumn In The Hills 2020.

Adelaide Hills 2020…It’s going to be hard to forget this autumn.

At a time of year when the masses normally descend on the region wrapped in scarves to sample wine, drink coffee, and find the perfect flame red background for a selfie…the streets have been deserted.  The wineries closed, coffee shops empty and who knows what’s happened to that chestnut guy in Stirling? The global pandemic has meant the showing off the Adelaide Hills does in autumn has gone largely unnoticed.

So I feel it’s up to me to document the beauty of the hills this season to share with those that didn’t have the pleasure of walking amongst the colour.

The Art of Adventure

Like most kids, my boys love exploration and adventure. Give them a bit of space, a secret garden, hidden pathways historic buildings and even a bit of wildlife and they are in their element. So our visit to Mount Lofty House in the Adelaide Hills for a sculpture hunt was a perfect Saturday morning activity. As part of the 2015 SALA festival, Mount Lofty House has a number of beautiful installations by Manning Sculptures spread throughout their vast grounds. I love MLH, it’s one of my favourite locations for Hills weddings thanks to the wonderful views and textures around the property. It provides the perfect backdrop for this stunning art, and while the pieces have just been added for the month of August, they fit seamlessly with their surrounds…The perfect blend of art and nature.blog
